Jurassic Period

The middle stretch of the Mesozoic trail, famous for giant sauropods, diverse theropods, and richly varied prehistoric ecosystems.

About the Jurassic

The Jurassic Period lasted from roughly 201 to 145 million years ago. During this time, dinosaurs became dominant parts of many land ecosystems while the supercontinent Pangaea continued breaking apart.

The period is especially well known for enormous sauropods, predatory dinosaurs such as Dilophosaurus, early birds, marine reptiles, and richly varied plant life.
