Accessible by default
Accessibility should not depend on finding a special mode first. The site uses semantic HTML, keyboard-friendly controls, visible focus states, locally hosted Atkinson Hyperlegible Next typography, responsive layouts, reduced-motion support, and screen-reader-friendly labels and landmarks.
The floating accessibility control adds optional text-size and high-contrast preferences. Those settings are meant to supplement the accessible baseline rather than replace it.
Current accessibility features
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and mobile menu.
- Skip-to-content navigation and labeled page landmarks.
- Visible keyboard focus indicators.
- Normal, Large, and Extra Large text-size presets.
- Optional high-contrast mode.
- Automatic support for reduced-motion system preferences.
- Windows forced-colors / High Contrast Mode consideration.
- Alternative-text and accessible-name checks during production builds.
- Responsive layouts designed to remain usable at high browser zoom.
- Fallback links around third-party embedded content.
Our target
WCAG conformance cannot be guaranteed by an automated checker alone. Mesozoic Haven uses automated structural checks to catch common regressions, then supplements them with manual keyboard, zoom, contrast, mobile, and screen-reader testing where practical.
If an accessibility improvement conflicts with decorative styling, readability and usability should generally win.
Found something difficult to use?
If part of the site is difficult to navigate, read, understand, or operate with assistive technology, please let us know through the Mesozoic Haven community. Include the page and what went wrong if possible so the problem can be reproduced and fixed.
